Christmas is Over!

Phew - what a few crazy days we've had. Steve's sister and her husband were in town so we all spent Christmas Day night at Grandma and Grandpa's house and opened presents on Friday. Then we all met up again at a local department store for photos on Saturday morning - lots and lots of photos. Saturday and Sunday nights Sandy and Jason joined us at our house for some holiday chillin'. Sunday evening Steve, Jacob and I walked across the lawn to a neighbor's party...we only stayed about 45 minutes because someone made it very clear that he was ready for bed NOW.

Jacob got to spend lots of time with Grandma, Grandpa and Sandy. Jason still seemed a bit unsure of how to deal with an infant, but he's doing better. Steve and I got a break from diapering duties and some extra sleep thanks to all the extra help. We ate a ton of terrific food and goodies, gave/got lots of hugs, opened presents, discovered that Jacob had already cut his first tooth (without telling anybody!), and then we ate some more.

In addition to all his smiles and laughter, Jacob loves showing us all how he can now roll over from his back to his belly. Although, once there he gets stuck and angry that he can't chase the cats yet. In fact, he's even practicing this new skill in his sleep.

By the way, here's a photo of Jacob on Santa's lap when the Jolly Old Elf visited daycare a few weeks ago. Thankfully Santa didn't scare Jacob because our little elf was too busy looking at all the childing sitting around Santa.

We hope you had a joyous celebration with your own families!

P.S. Most of you will never believe this but our super-ultra shy cat Hedwig finally let Sandy pet her and even (twice!) jumped up on her lap for pettings.
